Some beautiful yet simple street art we’ve seen recently.
It’s that time again ponies! We’ve done posts on graffiti, on signs, and even on burlap sacks – there is artwork to be seen everywhere in Toronto, you just need to be looking out for it. Today, we’d like to focus on some of the positive messages we’ve seen as of late – ones that make us smile as we pass by.
Our interview with fellow ponies, Side Pony Nation!
They’re hot, they’re funny as hell, and they’re fellow ponies! When we caught a glance into the lives of Side Pony Nation via Youtube, we laughed so hard our scrunchies came loose. Together, Lynn Moffatt and Tanya Casole-Gouveia have taken rap-pop to a refreshingly comedic level with catchy guitar riffs and spunky lyrics. Sitting down together, ponies alike, we asked these girls how they got started – seeing as they’re just getting started.
Toronto has banned kite flying in Milliken Park, and we’re bucking mad.
Councillor Chin Lee has single-handedly banned kite flying from Milliken Park (Scarborough) – apparently because of kite string litter. Anyone who breaks this law will now pay a fine of $100. Call us crazy, but aren’t there slightly more cigarette butts, gum packets, and plastic wrappers polluting our streets than kite strings? After nearly protesting by blanketing the park with tampon strings, we instead decided to take a deep breath and turn to our trusty steed. After all, the pony is mightier than the sword.
How to properly blanch veggies as the perfect BBQ side-dish.
When barbecuing, the standard side-dish normally involves a few spinach leaves topped with vinaigrette. Not bad, but not great either. Next time you find yourself trotting down the produce aisle, grab some asparagus or green beans instead – it’s time to boil down the facts on a properly blanched salad.
