What better way to judge local rock bands than by sending out the hardest rocker of them all? Ross Gower of The Poisonous Glass trotted around Canadian Music Week checking out shows from The Darcy’s, Teenage Kicks, Hope Atlantic, and Modernboys Moderngirls all for Mushy Pony. If you think that’s a little much for one writer – you clearly don’t know who you’re dealing with.

Sometime shortly after CMW the weather became unusually beautiful and I suddenly woke up a week later realizing I hadn’t accomplished anything. Well, it gave my thoughts some time to stew at least. And during the festival, I’d teamed up with my talented photographer friend Luke Champion hitting the scene hard. Here’s an outline of our adventures.

Meet the boys behind the cowboy boots and red underwear. Poisonous Glass have been making their mark on the Toronto rock scene with intense music and intense partying. To find them, you simply follow the trail of beer bottles and discarded aviator shades. But after talking to members Ross Gower and Pete McKitterick, the Cowgirls quickly learned that these guys are anything but intense.
