So Bad it Hirst.
Damien Hirst may have pushed the envelope a little too far this time.
It’s not that I don’t approve of using a two-week old infant’s skull as contemporary art. Nor that I don’t approve of these skulls being on the market for private investors to begin with. What I don’t approve of is a stale idea. Damien Hirst’s most famous piece is the diamond studded skull titled For the Love of God made in 2007 – so really, it’s taken him four years to think of making another one with pink diamonds instead.

Electrocuting Kitty.
The week-long journal of Kitty vs. the electric Scat Mat.
First and foremost, let it be stressed that I refuse to harm any living creature. My darling pet, Kitty, is a member of the family and receives an endless supply of cuddles every day. At night however, she has a habit of venturing into our living room and leaving us a present on our crisp, white sofa. So after tolerating this for a mere 7 years, my family’s finally decided to bring in the Petsafe Scat Mat: a devise that briefly shocks your beloved pet in order to keep them off any particular surface. My mother has already been curious enough to touch it and get shocked, so the question is: how long will it take Kitty before she does the same thing.

Thinking Outside the Pumpkin.
How even the most mundane, mass-produced decorations can spur magnificent results.
The inflation rate of Halloween decorations is extreme to say the least. Oh I’m not talking about the price; I mean the literal inflation of balloon-like creatures a lá wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-man. Most of them are quite boring and suburban, but you have to admit, when a ginormous one with a robotic head suddenly whips around to stare at you – it’s mind-blowing, so to speak.

Street Art: Peace & Love.
Some beautiful yet simple street art we’ve seen recently.
It’s that time again ponies! We’ve done posts on graffiti, on signs, and even on burlap sacks – there is artwork to be seen everywhere in Toronto, you just need to be looking out for it. Today, we’d like to focus on some of the positive messages we’ve seen as of late – ones that make us smile as we pass by.
