Facing Facts with our Face.

The Cowgirls try out a bazillion products to help you save on facial bills – okay, us too.

In true Patrick Bateman style, the Cowgirls decided to try out some facial creams to see which one was right for us. We happen to have extremely dry and crusty skin – and have usually resorted to thick layers of Vaseline on our face in moments of weakness. But thankfully, April Jackson of Elizabeth Grant Cosmetics heard our cries from the depths of the Twitterverse, and together we tested out a few samples.

EG’s Ultimate Cellular Concentrate: ($90)
If you’ve tried their infamous Socializer Pen (raved about by Blake Lively), then pick up one of these puppies for the rest of your face. We liked how after one use we could feel our skin tighten and smooth out – being as impatient as we are, we wanted results asap. We know you don’t need to worry about wrinkles just yet, but there’s no harm in preventing them from ever coming!

EG’s Caviar Nourishing Mask: ($50)
Remember those slumber parties where you’d put on that green mask with the cucumber slices while eating Cheetos? Then you’d wash it off and discover your skin was dyed green? Well this is the mask you can get instead that actually does stuff. If you have twenty minutes to spare, this miracle-in-a-jar will intensely moisturize your face leaving it baby-smooth when you wash clean. And it’s actually got caviar in it – so use it alongside a shot of vodka to add to your indulgence.

EG’s Caviar Day Créme: ($130)
Also with caviar in it (from Canadian salmon?!) this is the cream version for those who don’t have the twenty minutes to spare. Naturally reduces lines, wrinkles, etc. etc. using vitamins and moisture as a base. Although this cream takes the term “beauty is pain” quite literally – causing some serious pain in your wallet. Add this one to the birthday list instead because it’s the créme de la créme.

*Now, if money is an issue for you but you still have a dry face – here are some home-grown skin remedies that we’ve found also help:

MASK: (click on links for several other recipes)
1/2 Ripe Avocado
1 tbsp. of Olive Oil
1 Carrot.

Leave on face for twenty minutes to help restore moisture to the skin. Perhaps chop up the carrot first.

CREAM:
1 Ripe Banana

Mash it up and put on face for 20 minutes – it helps restore your glow as well as prevent wrinkles.

EXFOLIATOR:
1 Packet of Oatmeal.
Water.

Perfect for dry skin. Although technically, the best way to avoid a dry face is to drink lots of water. But seeing as the Cowgirls live off Moet, we didn’t consider that to be an option.
