The Workroom has all the answers to your crafty prayers.

Don’t own a sewing machine or serger? Don’t even know what a serger is? Head to Toronto’s first sew & craft by the hour space – otherwise known as The Workroom. Pop by and work independently on a project, or sign-up for their wicked classes aimed at beginner, intermediate, or advanced sewers.

Tomorrow’s class focuses on making easy alterations; which is quite practical when you think about all the wasted money spent at the dry cleaners to fix a button here and there. If you’re feeling comfortable, this weekend offers a class in turning leftover scrap fabrics into a snap coin purse. Cute, right?

Their blog, Make Something.ca, offers up further creative ideas for projects to work on at home (the Backpack-Tote, shown above, is just one neat example). Check it out, or download their class schedule here.
