In case you missed it, here’s our take on the Gladstone’s most recent exhibition.

This past weekend, the Gladstone Hotel hosted their annual alternative exhibition: Come Up My Room featuring several surreal installation pieces by our local dreaming artists. The Cowgirls were there in full force, taking photos everywhere we went – because frankly – you wouldn’t believe what we saw otherwise.

In one room, we found a giant cylindrical Chia Pet (for lack of better words).

And in another, we discovered planar surfaces covered in tennis balls.

But many artists chose to maintain the bedroom appearance – slipping in various dreamlike structures like nests or lanterns hanging over the furniture.

Whether installations are your thing or not, we found this exhibition to be a fantastic way to spend a drizzly January afternoon. With admission being only $8, you’ll feel quite deserving of a Queen West shopping spree afterward. For more information on the Gladstone’s future events, check them out here.
