The Best (and Worst) of the Golden Globes

FIRST PLACE – RED RIBBON:
Olivia Wilde in Gucci.
Quite possibly the most beautiful woman alive, Olivia glitters in all the right places. The draping is elegant, the colour is perfection against her naturally grey eyes, and the cut is sexy without being trashy (Mariah Carrey should take notes). The Cowgirls take our hats off to you.

SECOND PLACE – BLUE RIBBON:
Cameron Diaz in Alexander McQueen.
Of course it’s McQueen: the most brilliant designer known to mankind. Where she lost points – it’s a little tight around her waist, and the hair is a little boring. But that being said, the strong shoulders with the plunging neckline is wickedly bold and we love it.

THIRD PLACE – WHITE RIBBON:
Sofia Vergara in Carolina Herrera.
We literally were jaw-dropped when we saw this. The colours are just stunning, and yet, she screams sex-appeal with such a conservative cut. The minimal jewelry with the neutral makeup tones are working well, and her messy up-do is really the only way one can do an up-do. Where she lost points – this was really the only angle that worked. Many photos turned out boxy and puffy because of the stiff fabric.

FOURTH PLACE – YELLOW RIBBON:
Anna Paquin in Stella McCartney.
Could they be any cuter?? She just looks darling, and that fabric is really interesting. It looks like gold leaf paper, and I want to feel it. And then I want to feel him because as Bill Compton, he’s currently glamouring me with that smile. Where she lost points – it’s a little predictable. A gold sparkly number with plunging neckline. Yawn.

FIFTH PLACE – GREEN RIBBON:
Halle Berry in Kaufman Franco.
Our self esteem dropped about 6 points when Halle showed up in this. The dress itself isn’t particularly magical. Hell on some people it may even look trashy. But on Halle? With her boobs? And her skin? Little Miss Green Ribbon over here is making us green with envy.
