Just slip a stable under the tree, for me. Been an awful good girl Santa baby…

There are some key products out there that are worth making a note of. They make great gifts all year round, and every Cowgirl would approve wholeheartedly. So if you’ve got a case of writer’s block with your Christmas list this year, feel free to cheat off ours. It’s okay this time.
1. Banana Republic Jewelry (seen above)
- So many great statement pieces to go with a plain black something-something. Quite possibly the last place you’d think of when you think “jewelry” but a pleasantly surprising selection. It certainly grabs more attention than your generic overpriced Tiff’s bean.
2. Dior Show Mascara
- A Cowgirl favourite ($35). Legend has it, Karl Lagerfeld himself once grabbed a mascara tube, cut it in half, and applied it directly with a toothbrush onto a model at his show. That’s when the idea for this show mascara came to be. Trivia!
3. Sookie Stackhouse Book Series
- The origin of the hit show, True Blood (7 books for $33). Twi-hards, eat your heart out. We hear these books are even better than the show, which says a lot considering Eric’s mesmerizing eyes.
4. Jac & Gill Cut Out Stud Strap Dress
- Probably the most well-known piece within the collection from local it-store, Jacflash ($495), but we also love their studded pants and mini skirt. Nothing screams sexy like skin-tight studs that’s what we always say.

5. Jo Malone Perfumes
- Although we are obsessed with our customized Aromachology scent, we feel that for Christmas gifts – a fragrance by Jo Malone is a safer bet. You can find them at Holts, and we highly recommend their Lime/Basil/Mandarin scent, as well as their Nutmeg/Ginger.
6. BCBG Metallic Bow Clutch
- A signature piece that seems to work with every cocktail number in your wardrobe ($228). We unfortunately found their dresses this season a little cheap and nylon-y, but if you have time to take a glance at their runway collection you’ll be in good hands.

7. Moet & Chandon Champagne
- The Cowgirls know their champers let’s just put it that way. We’ve had our fair share of Veuve, Gosset, etc., as well as various Prosecco brands, but Moet has to be the creme de la creme ($74). The taste brings us back to our highschool graduation, various New Years parties, oh yea – and Christmas.
8. Magic Pony Artwork
- Gary Taxali, Nicholas Aoki, take your pic. Our fellow pony friend takes good care of our local artists. This store also has great gadgets and toys if you’re still gift shopping. Highly recommend a browse!
9. Chanel’s Jade Green Nail Polish
- This particular polish is the new “it” colour if we ever saw one. Forget black nails, this is all you need to be cool anymore. Drew Barrymore wore it during TIFF, and ever since then it’s been sold out everywhere. But a colour is still a colour, and if you can hunt down a replica all the power to you!
10. Alexander McQueen Shoes
- Expensive yes (ranging in the thousands), but all spectacular works of art are! These are an investment piece – one you’d have to be a little nuts to actually wear on your feet. But who needs therapy or spas when you have the ‘queen’ by your side?
