So you don’t have your M2 just yet, that’s okay – the hardest part is choosing what type of biker you’ll want to be. THE SPORT BIKE:

These bikes look like the kind of thing you’d see out on race tracks. They are light weight, fast, and streamlined with low handlebars to force you into that racing seating position. Examples include: Ducati, Yamaha, Suzuki,

THE DIRT BIKE:

You’ve probably seen Motocross racing on TV at some point, right? Well there are many other, less competitive variations of this kind of biking. The most popular: dirt biking (or trail riding). The bikes are typically high off the ground with what seem to be rock hard seats and very knobby looking tires. Examples include: Kawasaki, KTM, and Honda

THE CRUISER:

These bikes are typically big looking, low down and have laid back seating positions  – think Hells Angels. Great for long distance riding, highways, and looking bad-ass. Don’t forget the aviator shades. Examples include: Harley Davidson, Honda, and Goldwing

THE DUALSPORT:

Popularized by actor Ewan McGregor and his buddy Charlie Boorman in the TV series, Long Way Round. These bikes are designed to travel to out of the way places, rather than in the city or on the freeway. Examples include: BMW F1200 series, Buell, and Triumph,

Check out the show, from December 11th-13th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
